They have also been looking at Finding Humour and learning how to use it effectively as a habit of mind. Some of us were reticent at first when we tried 'laughter yoga' but gradually, we are all getting the hang of it and are enjoying having fun laughing together. Term 2 In Term 2 students have been learning to sing rounds, including Frere Jacques , in preparation for Beauty and the Beast as some of the songs in this musical contain French words. Students have also been learning to read music and play Frere Jacques on the glockenspiel, with some classes also able to play it as a round. Term 1 Years 3 and 4 are studying Music during Term 1, 2017. We are going to be creating our own compositions based on one of the four seasons. Please scroll down to the bottom of this page to access the instructions for your Music Composition Project. We have used many Habits of Mind when creating these compositions including: Thinking Interdependently, Listening with Understanding and Empathy, Gathering Data through sight, sound and touch and Striving for Accuracy. We were Gathering Data when we were exploring the various sounds and textures that the different instruments made. That way, we could decide which ones best suited our season. We were Thinking Interdependently and Communicating with Clarity and Precision when we made collaborative decisions about how our compositions would sound.
